School’s refurbished sports zone scores a win with pupils

An independent school in Huddersfield is celebrating after a refurbishment to its outdoor sports courts has been a victory with its children.

Huddersfield Grammar School recently renovated its tired sports courts after the much-loved space needed refurbishment. Completed by Sovereign Play Equipment, the space has been transformed into a multi-use sports zone boasting a complete range of activities for the school’s pupils. Netball, basketball, cricket, and football are among the sports that can be played on the new courts.

Tim Hoyle, Headmaster at Huddersfield Grammar School commented: “Our new sports area has proved a unanimous hit with pupils, parents and staff. The multi-use games unit and AstroTurf surface, provided by Sovereign, has provided an excellent base for a wide range of school activities. The area is used throughout the school day by children of all ages whilst at play, in lessons and in school sporting activities.”

Emma commented: “Tasked with renovating the existing outdoor sports area, we designed a new space with a view of upgrading the courts in a way that would help Huddersfield Grammar School get more from the area. Containing two large AstroTurf sports courts, the space offers durable, hard-wearing sports surfacing, with multi-use goals and markings that allow for sports including netball, basketball, football, cricket and more. We’re thrilled that the children are enjoying their new facilities.”
